Forwarding agents claim to be experts in the logistics network, but fail to adequately utilize the multitude of shipping modes at their disposal such as ships, airplanes, trucks, and railroads to organize the shipment. Carriers, air freighters, trucking companies, rail freighters, and ocean liners wont tell you how to clear customs, what to do when your cargo is detained in a country with different laws and regulations, or that delayed loading and unloading operations will incur expensive "demurrage" charges to the shipment owner. Brokers and Yacht builders aren't always sure who can reliably deliver the final product when a yacht is finished and the deal is closed.
